Day330: Fez “The Geometry of Light”

There exists an instrument designed to suffuse an entire space with the patterns of the arabesque. These brass lamps, their surfaces meticulously punctured with countless minute holes and motifs, function much like a planetarium. The light emitted from the internal source filters through the exquisite openwork, projecting geometric shadows across the surrounding walls and ceilings. It is, perhaps, a device that instantly tailors any given location into an Islamic space by casting these shadows onto the walls. The delicate interplay of light and dark emerging from the darkness blends with the inherent weight of the metal, sublimating it into a unique art of light and shadow.
