Day340: Barcelona “Shadows of Corbusier”

A massive white museum stands in the midst of the Old Quarter. The interior is centered around a grand atrium and a slope, with galleries on each floor facing this main space. The sensation of walking up this slope reminded me of the architectural promenade I had experienced at Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye and Maison Curutchet.

旧市街の中に、白く巨大な美術館がある。内部は大きな吹き抜けとスロープがメインの空間となっており、各階にはそこに面して展示室が配置されている。このスロープを上がっていく感覚は、サヴォア邸やクルチェット邸で体験したコルビュジエの空間のプロムナードを彷彿とさせた。
