Day316: Porto “Resonance”
When you think of Portugal, I really wanted to feature a building by Álvaro Siza. However, his architecture doesn’t easily reveal its qualities through photographs, so I struggled to decide which one to introduce. In the end, I chose the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art on the outskirts of Porto.
It is not a flashy building, but the approach is remarkably memorable. Slight manipulations of wall angles and carefully framed views create a beautiful sequence of scenery that unfolds as you walk. I felt it was an architecture that resonates with the landscape.
