Day313: Paris “Perforated Surface”
Parc de la Villette, planned with Bernard Tschumi at its core, felt calm and peaceful as I walked through it, with children running around and playing freely. Within the park, the Philharmonie de Paris stood out as a strikingly different presence.
The steel cladding of its exterior is woven together like a basket, and the varying curvatures of the panels create a rich diversity of expression. Small perforations in the steel plates grow larger or disappear, allowing light to pass through or blocking it. Geometric patterns from the ceiling extend seamlessly onto the walls, then break off again. The building felt almost alive, generating a wide range of spatial experiences.
ベルナール・チュミを中心に計画されたラ・ヴィレット公園。子どもたちは走り回って遊んでいてとても穏やかな気持ちで歩いて回った。その中にあるフィルハーモニー・ド・パリはひときわ異質な存在感を放っている。
外装の鋼の板が籠のように編み込まれて、様々な鋼板の曲率により表情に多様性をもたらしている。鋼板に穿たれた小さな穴が大きくなったりなくなったり、光を通したり遮ったり。天井の幾何学的なパターンが壁にまで連続したり、途切れたり。まるで生きているかのような建物で、多様な空間体験を生み出していた。
