Day83: Cuetzalan “Importance of Fashion”

I watched the traditional dance called “La danza de los negritos” at Cuetzalan, Puebla. It is danced in the mountain areas of Veracruz, Hidalgo and Puebla. It tells the story of black slaves brought from Africa by the Spaniards to work on the sugarcane plantations.

The fashion was created based on the story. Fashion plays an important role in passing on legends as well as storytelling.
