Day15: San Diego “Facade to the heaven”
I was really looking forward to see this architecture but it was under repair work, and what was worse, it was cloudy and wrapped in a fog like a heaven.
There is a famous story about this architecture. Louis Karn wondered how to plan the garden and asked for advice to Luis Barragan. Then, he told him ‘”I would not put a tree or blade of grass in this space. This should be a plaza of stone, not a garden. If you make this a plaza, you will gain a facade–a facade to the sky.”
